Network for Oratory and Politics Lecture: Dr Rob Goodman

(Toronto Metropolitan University)

Dr Goodman is a former speechwriter for US Congress and Senate members, a political theorist specialising in rhetoric ancient and modern, and the author of Words on Fire: Eloquence and its Conditions (CUP 2021) and co-author of Rome’s Last Citizen: The Life and Legacy of Cato (2012).

The Network for Oratory and Politics is an interdisciplinary research network focusing on the relationship between oratory and politics across historical periods and geographical areas. The network connects, develops and communicates research in this field through public lectures, seminars, workshops and its website.

The event is free and open to all.

We plan to stream the lecture via Zoom (technology permitting), so please indicate in your email whether you plan to come in person or would like to join via Zoom. We will send out zoom links before the event.
