Our research interests are focused primarily on the Classical world, and especially the Roman and Byzantine World.

Recent projects have included looking at urbanism in Roman North Africa, Byzantine Greece and Asia Minor, the evolution of Roman towns in Gaul, Spain and in Britain. On-going projects include the long-standing research project at Wroxeter in Shropshire and Eauze in France as well as high-tech investigations of individual monuments and sites as at Cyrene in Libya or the Lateran in Rome. We also study the early cities of the Mycenean World, especially Knossos and the rich urban heritage of Sicily.
