'Conditions to Cure' brings together an interdisciplinary group of scholars working on the international histories of conversion and aversion therapies.

After a set of small-group workshop and art activities, we will host a roundtable event open to the public. Responding to the release of the Report of the University of Birmingham's Historical Research on Sexuality Project, this roundtable will discuss the broader significance of our institutional history. We will also situate this history in its contemporary context and the current struggle to ban harmful reorientation activities aimed at lgbtq+ people in Britain.

Participants include Kate Davison (History, Goldsmiths/Edinburgh), Katherine Hubbard (Sociology, Surrey), Sarah Marks (History, Birkbeck), and Helen Spandler (Mental Health Studies, Lancashire).

Everyone is welcome to attend the roundtable event at 17:00 on 8 June 2022 in the Alan Walters Building (UoB Edgbaston Campus), Room Alan Walters G11.
