SUMMARY:Maternal Bodies: Individual, Collective, Other Symposium
UID:www.birmingham.ac.uk/203599
DESCRIPTION:The Maternal Bodies Network is holding an interdisciplinary one-day symposium on 15 June exploring historical and contemporary debates about maternal bodies.
 One-day hybrid symposium on 15 June.\n
This interdisciplinary one-day hybrid symposium will explore the Maternal Body within a broadern context of the social, cultural and political realities of (m)otherhood. Throughout history, motherhood has been a repository for wide-ranging societal hopes and fears, and maternal bodies—the subjective experience thereof, their presence, their capacity to enrich and disrupt—have particular significance.\n
This forum seeks to question embedded attitudes and understandings that have resounded through history and continue to demonstrate relevance today.\n
Keynote speaker: Dr Sarah Fox, University of Birmingham\n
