SUMMARY:New Directions in Queer and Trans History: Matt Cook and Mo Moulton in Conversation
UID:www.birmingham.ac.uk/210802
DESCRIPTION:In 2024, queer and trans histories are thriving and expanding - even as violence and backlash against LGBTQIA+ people continues around the world.\n
How can queer and trans history respond to the politicisation of queer and trans life? What is the relationship between queer history, trans history, and other approaches to histories of gender and sexual minorities? What does the future hold for these fields?\n
Professor Matt Cook, who holds the Jonathan Cooper Chair in the History of Sexuality (University of Oxford), is in conversation with Professor Mo Moulton (University of Birmingham), followed by a general discussion.\n
This is a hybrid event, with attendance on campus or online.\n
