As a World Top 60 Law School, the University of Birmingham offers the perfect opportunity for Middle Eastern students to enhance their academic and employability prospects with an ever-increasing presence both in Edgbaston and Dubai.

The Middle East has rapidly become a centre for international trade and commerce; much of this business is done in accordance with English Common Law which means that a law degree from Birmingham Law School is an invaluable opportunity for your future aspirations. To equip you with the essential legal knowledge and skills, we offer both general study to give you a firm understand of all the key areas of law, such as our LLB Law or LLM General Law, whilst we also offer the option to specialise in a particular area such as our LLB International Law and Globalisation or LLM Commercial Law

As the first Global Top 100 and UK Russell Group university to establish a campus in Dubai, the University of Birmingham Dubai offers the chance to pursue one of our postgraduate Law degrees closer to home whilst ensuring our internationally-acclaimed academic rigour is maintained. Accredited by the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Education, our LLM International Commercial Law in Dubai continues to grow as students seek to understand the increasing relevance of international trade as the Middle East continues to expand as a global hub.

I chose Birmingham Law School because of the diverse opportunities here, and because there was a lot to learn and experience. I thought that studying here would give me the opportunities to explore myself and reach my highest potential. You can really step out of your comfort zone and try new things.

Accreditation of your degree

All of the law degrees offer by Birmingham Law School on our Edgbaston campus are fully-accredited UK law degrees. Our degrees therefore allow you to progress your legal career in becoming a solicitor or barrister in England and Wales. All across the world, many countries utilise the English Common Law system which means that you may be able to seek employment across the globe and have a deep understanding of the legal practices. The University of Birmingham Dubai's law degrees are being reviewed for accreditation by the UAE's Ministry of Education as we continue to challenge students to reach their highest potential.

The above information is for guidance purposes. We recommend that students carry out their own research and check with the legal associations in the jurisdictions they wish to practise in for the most up-to-date information as the regulations may change.

As a Birmingham Law School student, you will benefit from our Centre for Professional Legal Education and Research, which offers a range of opportunities to increase your experience of law in action and enhance your employability, including International Law Careers Week. These feature a variety of invaluable events to provide guidance on legal careers and ensure that students are fully informed about the career options that are available to them.
