The module will explore the foundations of international law and globalisation, taking history, economics and politics of globalisation into account. The module will introduce students to key concepts that enable a full understanding of the economic and political backgrounds to and elements of globalisation, such as sovereignty, the international legal regime, comparative legal systems, and international organisations. Emphasis will be given to the impact of globalisation on national, regional and international law and on the development of ‘global governance’.
