Biography

I have always had an interest in the promotion and regulation of Consumer Law. I have worked with the Office of Fair Trading and trained under the Trading Standards Institute before changing my career path to Law. As a law student, I developed a keen interest in commercial and company law which led me to pursue a Masters specialising in Commercial Law. I am now writing towards a PhD at the University of Birmingham under Keith Uff.

Research

Legal rights under consumer contracts, protection of consumers and regulatory enforcement has been expanded by the influence of EU Directives and Regulation. My research considers the impact of the EU on consumer autonomy, the status quo of consumer law in relation to the collation of domestic and EU legislation, and the socio-legal impact of consumer protection from an economic and policy view.
