Cosmin Minea, PhD researcher in our department and Midlands3Cities scholar, has been awarded a Doctoral Research Fellowship at the Leibniz Institute for European History in Mainz.

During the 8-month scholarship, from December to July, Cosmin will be based in Mainz to work on his PhD dissertation and present his research in the seminars and conferences at the Institute. He will make use of the library of both the IEG and the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, while improving his German language proficiency. While there, he aims to explore more in-depth the relation between the activity of conservation and promotion of the cultural heritage in late 19th century Romania and the German and Habsburg scholars and institutions, particularly with the Vienna School of Art History.

More details on Cosmin Minea’s PhD dissertation and past research can be find here.
