SUMMARY:Imagining Ecuador: book launch and discussion
UID:www.birmingham.ac.uk/202821
DESCRIPTION:Dr Luis Medina Cordova (University of Birmingham) will discuss his new book, Imagining Ecuador: Crisis, Transnationalism and Contemporary Fiction (Tamesis, 2022), with Professor Philip Swanson (University of Sheffield) and Dr Emanuelle Santos (University of Birmingham). \n \n The book explores the ways in which contemporary Ecuadorian writers are reimagining the nation following the Feriado Bancario (1999), the worst financial crisis in Ecuador’s history, and how in doing so their work engages with world literature from a minor Latin American perspective. \n
Join us for an afternoon of Ecuadorian literature, refreshments and nibbles!\n
This is a hybrid event, taking place in person and on Zoom (link will be shared closer to the event date).\n
