The Visual Culture of Fourth Wave Feminism on Social Media

Research

My research focusses on how we can seek to define what is broadly understood as ‘fourth wave feminism’ through examining its artistic practices and visual culture and the ways in which they intertwine with social media and coexisting contemporary feminisms. Furthermore, by using intergenerational comparative analyses I explore how the (dis)continuities across feminist waves can further our understanding of this current feminist resurgence and its activist, artistic and visual practices.
