Coline Dero is an French Assistant Language Tutor. Her research interests include social approaches of British music scenes, and English and French modern and contemporary literature.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English Civilisation and Literature, Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès (2017)
  • Master’s Degree in English Civilisation and Literature, Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès (2019)

Biography

Born in Toulouse in the South of France, she studied English at the University of Toulouse Jean Jaurès and moved to Birmingham in September 2020, to work as a French Tutor.

Research

Her research interests focus on the sociology of rock music, and include British and French culture, history and literature. 

Current projects

She is currently working on local heavy metal fan communities in the Midlands, and the way those communities interact with society as a whole (idea of deviance/religious forms/parasocial dynamics).
