I am currently a postdoctoral Research Assistant working with Dr Louise Hardwick on Impact and public engagement activities relating to the Martinican author Joseph Zobel. My AHRC-funded thesis focused on representations of Paris in contemporary French film and fiction to explore the connections between memories of the Holocaust and the Algerian war in France. My work is underpinned by an interest in ethics, genre and form, and I am particularly interested in the relationship between politics, history and culture. I have worked as a Teaching Fellow, AHRC Cultural Engagement Fellow and a Research Assistant at the University of Birmingham, and delivered national lectures for the Prince's Teaching Institute. Recently, my cultural engagement work has seen me collaborate with local arts and cultural venues to screen Francophone films across Birmingham, as well as delivering workshops for teachers and members of the public.
