The Institution Wide Language Programme provides language modules at a range of levels, from beginners to proficient. To find out which level you should start at refer to the table below.

Please note:

  • Arabic is currently available at Level 1 only
  • A 3-year programme from Level 1 is offered in Japanese and Mandarin Chinese (subject to a minimum number of enrolments).
  • The above table is a guide only: you may be advised by LfA staff to move to a different module, if we feel this is more appropriate to your level
  • Students with qualifications other than those given above, including Erasmus students, should consult staff in the LfA to determine which course is most appropriate for them
