Senior Managing Editor for German publishing houses which specialised in multi-language book productions and translations. Both publishers produced books in up to 12 languages.

Editor and translator in a South African publishing house specialised in books about travel, natural science and general history and producing books in various languages. MFL teacher at a South African Language School teaching German and Spanish.

At UoB I am currently teaching German for Languages for All and convey the German Language Project.

My teaching covers German across all levels from A1 to C2.

I have taught in a variety of different set-ups and structures: remote, face-to-face, classes, tailored groups and one-to-one tuition using traditional teaching materials as well as online teaching platforms and/or online tools/ Apps. I have worked in schools, universities, businesses as well as further education institutions, here in the UK and abroad. My professional life has always involved languages – looking at it from different perspectives: as a teacher,  translator, editor and learner.

My role does not require to be research active, but I strongly believe in CPD. I have a special interest in teaching materials/research that accommodate various learning styles (kinetic, audio, visual etc) for face-to-face and digital teaching and how to combine teaching research and real-life classroom experience to create bespoke teaching modules for different learners (children/ young adults/ SEN/ professionals). Other interests are bi-/ multilingual children and their language learning (and the difficulties that can come with it) and, naturally, the art of translation.
