Crossing borders: Music's journey between Italy and France
Elizabeth Dobbin soprano
Anne Marie Dragosits harpsichord

The complexion of music in the seventeenth and first half of the eighteenth centuries was coloured and defined by the competing national music styles of France and Italy. This programme explores the two competing affects, tracing the journey of the fiery, extrovert Italian style to Paris, where a very different musical language was in vogue, and ultimately ending with their harmonious co-existence in the eighteenth century and beyond. Australian-born soprano Elizabeth Dobbin is joined by fellow Baroque specialist Anne Marie Dragosits for this performance.
