We are delighted to welcome two University of Birmingham alumni to perform in this Barber Evening Concert. Carolyn Sampson has performed internationally both on the concert and opera stages to critical acclaim, as well as releasing numerous CDs. Most recently, she released her debut song cycle CD, accompanied by Joseph Middleton. Joseph is an in-demand recitalist and accompanist who has performed all over the world, as well as being Director of Leeds Lieder and musician-in-residence at Pembroke College, Cambridge. In this performance, they explore the works of English playwright William Shakespeare and French poet Paul Verlaine through song.
