The University of Birmingham hosts the first Birmingham Proms - a free outdoor evening concert for the whole community which will culminate in a spectacular firework display.
There is no other free event of this kind in the city - its last free community Proms was 20 years ago.
The University Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Daniele Rosina, will feature young opera stars and University Alumni, Lauren Joyanne Morris and Philippa Althaus, and an evening full of Proms favourites, popular classics and songs from The Sound of Music.
This event highlights the University’s musical heritage as well as showcasing the talents of our current students and alumni.
This event is part of the Summer Festival of Music.
