We celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the opening of The Bramall with performances from two of the longstanding University Music ensembles, Philharmonic Orchestra and Birmingham University Singers. With a programme of works by composers of international and/or historical significance who have held professorships in the Department of Music we reflect on the musical heritage of the University. Guest cellist Guy Johnstone joins the orchestra to give a performance of Elgar's last work of great note, and cornerstone of the cello repertoire, the Concerto in E minor.
