Music and the Hanseatic League

Although the heyday of the Hanseatic league was far in the past by the baroque period, a handful of major cities maintained their membership, and the cultural links that it brought with it. This programme investigates music from these cities including pieces by major composers such as Buxtehude, Mattheson, Keiser and Handel.
