This joint concert with two of the Music Society’s orchestras features second-year Music student Emma Brown, winner of the 2019 Music Society Soloists Prize, for a performance of Mozart's second flute concerto. Fantasia on Welsh Nursery Tunes is a lighthearted musical journey through childhood in eight traditional tunes written by Welsh composer Grace Williams during the Second World War. Our welsh patrons may recognise the melodies: Jim Cro, Deryn y Bwn oâr Banna, Migildi Magildi, Si Hei Lwli âMabi, Gee ceffyl bach, Cysga di fy mhlentyn tlws, Yr eneth ffein ddu, and Cadi ha!.
