Our City of Stories

Germa Adan

Pyn Stockman

We launch Our City of Stories with this captivating double-bill from renowned storyteller Pyn Stockman, and folk musician Germa Adan. Each artist shares personal stories and experiences through their unique performances, and are joined by special guest musicians including Kate Luxmoore, and Germa’s own quartet.

Pyn Stockman and Kate Luxmoore present Tell It to The Bees - a piece about travelling forward, hope, and life whilst still remembering those that have gone before us. Together they share a common passion for old tales, folk songs, and the improvisational nature of live music and story. They combine elements of jazz and contemporary music with spoken and physical performance.

Germa Adan is a Haitian folk artist known for her ability to write and perform in the style of a storyteller with a strong undercurrent of social consciousness at the heart of her music. She creates an ethereal tapestry of rich vocal and stringed harmonies, influenced by the overlapping identities and cultures of Haitian, American, and global folk traditions. Germa is joined by her quartet to perform songs from her upcoming second album.
