Daniele Rosina Conductor

The Summer Festival Orchestra presents music from cinema and stage, including Prokofiev’s ‘Montagues and Capulets’ - most recently made popular by BBC's
The Apprentice, but originally written for the Bolshoi Ballet. The Bolshoi deemed the music 'impossible to dance to' and it was first stage four years after being completed, by the Brno Opera.

We have only had a one year wait to hear Michael Triggs's Earth - winner of the 2022 Music Society Composition Competition, presented alongside music from stage and screen favourite West Side Story, and A Night Piece from Bernard Herrmann's score for Martin Scorsese's 1976 classic Taxi Driver.

Michael Triggs Earth (world premiere)
Bernstein Symphonic Dances from West Side Story
Hermann A Night Piece for Orchestra from Taxi Driver
Prokofiev “Montagues and Capulets” from Suite No. 2 (from Romeo and Juliet), Op. 64c
