Michael Zev Gordon has been nominated for prestigious Ivors Composer Award

University of Birmingham's Chair in Composition Michael Zev Gordon has been nominated for the prestigious Ivors Composer Awards 2021 for his song cycle Baruch - Ten Propositions of Baruch Spinoza for Tenor and Piano.

The work was commissioned by the 2020 Oxford Lieder Festival. It was premiered as part of a filmed live-stream recital by James Gilchrist and Anna Tilbrook from Oxford's Holywell Music Room. 

The award ceremony takes place at the British Museum on Wednesday 8 December and will be recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
