Students and staff commemorated Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) in November as part of our Cultural Calendar of events.

We worked in collaboration with the Mexican Society to deliver a fun, educational evening to celebrate Mexican culture, including:

  • Traditional crafts
  • Skull decorating
  • Tequila tasting
  • Building an altar de muertos
  • Pan de muerto
  • Raffle for the Mexican Earthquake Appeal

The event was enjoyed by all, and our Mexican students commented that it was just like being back home! The crafts were particularly enjoyable and we all got to take home our painted calavera or a papel picado to commemorate our dead.
