SUMMARY:Algebraic Groups and Their Representations, July 2023
UID:www.birmingham.ac.uk/201863
DESCRIPTION:A working knowledge of algebraic groups and their representation theory is essential for modern-day researchers in algebra and geometry. In this 5-day research school, funded by the London Mathematical Society, participants will be able to develop a deep understanding of this core area of mathematics. Through 3 lecture series of 5 lectures each, delivered by internationally-renowned mathematicians, participants will learn about the structure, geometry, and representation theory of algebraic groups.\n
 The lecture series will be:\n

Representation theory of reductive groups and categorification(Jonathan Brundan, University of Oregon)
Geometry arising from algebraic groups (Martina Lanini, Università di Roma "Tor Vergata")
Modular representation theory of reductive algebraic groups (Simon Riche, Université Clermont Auvergne)
