Rachel Pengelly is a PhD student in pure mathematics in the School of Mathematics under the supervision of Dr Simon Goodwin. Her research interests are in modular Lie algebras and representation theory.

Research Activity

The main area of Rachel's research is the representation theory of Lie algebras in fields of positive characteristic. She is currently considering the Lie algebras of reductive algebraic groups, in particular their nilpotent orbits.
