Baoyu Zhang is a PhD student jointly supervised by Professor Chris Parker and Dr David Craven. He was awarded Outstanding Graduate of Beijing's Higher Education Institutions by Beijing Municipal Commission of Education in 2023.

Baoyu’s Erdős number is 3 and he always looks forward to collaborations that broaden his horizons. Since the start of 2025, Baoyu has been co-organising Seminars on Groups and Graphs based at Southern University of Science and Technology.

Although Baoyu's research interests are mainly in algebra and its intersections with other areas of pure mathematics, he always looks forward to finding interesting applications of mathematics in real life as well.
