Project overview

Applications are invited for a 3-year fully-funded PhD Studentship for UK or EU Nationals starting as soon as possible in the Tommy’s National Centre for Miscarriage Research. Applications must be made before Thursday, June 23, 2016.

The successful PhD project applicant will work with Dr Jackson Kirkman-Brown MBE, Professor Arri Coomarasamy (the Director of Tommy’s National Centre for Miscarriage Research) and the local Tommy’s Clinical care and Research teams to begin to unravel the role that sperm DNA may play in unexplained miscarriage. Through this work we hope to change a paradigm in miscarriage – not only explaining for some couples why it happened, but also helping them avoid it happening again. We are focused upon challenging the misconceptions of miscarriage and finding answers at a time when nothing makes sense.

This research was recently featured on Embarrassing Bodies, where Jackson discussed our findings so far with Dr Christian Jessen:
