Ole Jensen

Ole Jensen, Professor of Translational Neuroscience in the School of Psychology has been awarded the 2016 Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award.

Ole Jensen is leader in cognitive neuroscience and human electrophysiology. His work focuses on the functional role on brain oscillations using magnetoencephalography (MEG) in combination with other brain imaging techniques.

After building a career at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, The Netherlands, Ole recently started a position at the University of Birmingham. He will be co-director of the new Centre for Human Brain Health where he will continue his work on brain oscillations in relation to cognition and mental disease.

The Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award recognises respected international scientists of outstanding achievement and provides support to enable them to continue their work in the UK.

Ole said of his award: "It is a great honour for me to receive the Wolfson Research Merit Award. I see it as recognition of the hard work and achievements of my research group.”
