Sophie’s doctoral research, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), focuses on changes in language production that occur with age. She is specifically interested in the effect of age on syntactic choices and sentence planning, and how this is affected by other cognitive functions, such as inhibitory control and memory.

Biography

Sophie previously studied for a BSc Psychology and MSc Psychological Research at the University of Warwick. During her Masters, Sophie worked with Dr Kate Messenger and Professor Elizabeth Maylor researching syntactic priming across the lifespan.
