Gary Rendsburg is a leading scholar on literary approaches to the Bible, the history of ancient Israel, the history of the Hebrew language, and the intersection of ancient Israel and the  ancient Near East. He is the author of six books and approximately 120 scholarly articles.  His most popular book is The Bible and the Ancient Near East, co-authored with Cyrus H. Gordon.
