Could you help with our research exploring identity and faith negotiation for Christian converts? If you meet the below requirements then the Hyphen Project would love to hear your story.
- Over 18 years old
- Based in the United Kingdom
- Identify as belonging to an ethnic minority group (including Irish and ‘mixed’)
- Have converted to Christianity from another religion OR between Catholicism, Protestantism and/or Orthodoxy.
- Have experienced another life change (e.g. gaining a child, getting married, death of a loved one) since your conversion.
Ways of Participating
There are two ways that you can participate in the Hyphen Project. Please choose ONE of the below options.
Interviews will be recorded and last approximately one hour. You will be asked to meet with the researcher once before the interview to discuss the process and consent, and then once a few weeks after the interview to discuss the transcript and whether there are any changes that you would like to be made. All meetings and interviews can take place either in person, over the telephone or Skype.
2. Written Story
If you would prefer to submit your story in written form then please send it, along with a signed consent form (see below) to firstname.lastname@example.org. You will be invited to meet with the researcher after your story has been submitted to discuss the anonymised version and whether there are any changes that you would like to be made. All meetings can take place either in person, over the telephone or Skype.
Please see our Written Story Guidance Notes [pdf] for further information before submitting your story.
None of your stories / data can be used without informed consent from you. This means that you are required to read and sign the attached consent form to show that you agree with the terms of participating and that you understand your rights as a participant.
If you choose to submit a written story, please make sure that you attach a signed copy (this can be typed in the word document) to your e-mail.
If you choose to attend an interview, you will need to return a signed copy of the consent form to the researcher before the interview takes place.
In both cases, if you have any questions at all about the consent form or the ways that data will be collected and handled please contact Grace Milton directly on email@example.com.
Any questions, queries or concerns should be directed to Grace Milton on firstname.lastname@example.org. If you would like to participate but are unsure about anything then please do get in touch.
