We offer education expertise across age phases and institutional types and we are exploring how schools can work with communities to develop new approaches to local services and leadership.
Examples of this work include:
- the PSA working with the Birmingham Education Partnership (BEP) to develop collaborative work on health and wellbeing;
- the School of Education (SoE) hosting a PSA-SoE-BEP Seminar Series on the theme ‘What do we know about….?’
- INLOGOV developping a Masters programme for BEP with the potential to include others from across the city.
Youth - Destination Work
We are undertaking research and evaluation with Birmingham City Council (BCC) as part of their 'Destination Work' youth employment programme. Acting as the formal evaluator to this major project funded by the Cabinet Office, the PSA is developing measures of 'social value' and 'success factors' that will inform future employment interventions.
Destination Work is a Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership / Birmingham City Council / Solihull District Council partnership programme which is developping and testing innovative interventions with unemployed young people aged 18 to 24.
The evaluation will set Destination Work in a wider city, national and european context and bring together detailed analysis of existing monitoring data with rich data about young people's journeys off benefits.
