Evaluation of Integrated Care in Norway

Led by the Health Services Research Unit at Akershus University Hospital this project will enhance knowledge of pathways that are characterised by good quality and safe care, and which are responsive to needs, based on user involvement, continuity of care and successful collaboration within and between service levels.

One aspect of the research is to explore the role of Municipal Acute Units, which are designed to support patients diagnosed with conditions that can be managed with less advanced equipment and lower cost than in hospital. The project will also seek to gain carers’ perspective on the provision of multiple health services to dementia patients, and new knowledge on appropriate palliative services for older people in a multicultural society.
