Joy joined the School of Social Policy as the Service User and Carer Co-ordinator within the Social Work Programmes in October 2007.

Biography

Prior to joining the Department of Social Policy and Social Work, Joy worked as a visiting lecturer and casual researcher within the University whilst undertaking her PhD. She had also  previously worked in Third Sector Management for ten years.

Research

Disability Issues, Voluntary Sector, Service Users and Carers: representation and identity. Joy's PhD explores ‘changing needs and challenging perceptions of Disabled People with Acquired Impairments’.
