The evening will include a screening of the documentary 'Riots Reframed' followed by a Q and A with the director, Fahim Alam. The documentary was made after Fahim was falsely accused of involvement in the east London riots; spending six weeks in prison on remand, and a further six months on an electronic tag. This hard-hitting film presents an engaging examination of the role of police, power, racism, government, prison, war, resistance, and the media.

You can find out more about Fahim and the film here:

The event is open to staff and students from across the University and registration details and marketing are set to follow early next week. However, knowing how quickly diaries fill up I wanted to flag it up sooner rather than later. Hope to see you there!

The event is being led by the student Social Policy Society.

Please note that registration has now closed for this event.
