BSc Sport and Exercise Sciences

School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences Student Ambassador

Throw yourself into everything and make the most of your time here!"

My time at Birmingham

The course suited perfectly the aspects of Sport Science I was interested in. Plus you have the best of both worlds being in a big city but with a beautiful campus. My first year was crazy! There’s so many different opportunities, so many things you want to get involved in and so many new people to meet. I like how I can relate everything we study back to myself and understanding what is going on with my body while I’m training.

There is everything you could possibly need on campus! Clothes shops, SPAR and both fruit and farmers markets! There’s always something going on. Having the train station is really handy, it allows you to get anywhere you need to quickly and easily. Whether it’s a quick trip to the Bullring from University or going home for the weekend – it’s so easy to do.

My future plans

Hopefully in a Sport Development job, working to promote sport in areas that are less involved.

About the Student Ambassador Scheme

I decided to join because I wanted to show prospective students why they should become part of this university too. You get to meet so many new people! Whether it’s reassuring parents, answering prospective students’ questions or giving campus tours with a fellow ambassador – there’s always a positive atmosphere at work.

My top tips for prospective Birmingham students

  1. Join a sports team or society – the best way to make friends!
  2. Throw yourself into everything and make the most of your time here!
  3. You’ll be happy wherever you choose, just pick what feels right to you
