Lucy Gardiner qualified as a Physiotherapist at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2010. She started her career in physiotherapy at Northampton General Hospital before moving to London and specializing in the cardio-respiratory field. Lucy has worked across the breadth of cardio-respiratory practice including critical care, cardiothoracic surgery, chronic disease management and rehabilitation. She commenced her MSc in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy at University College London in 2016, which was completed whilst working in clinical practice. Lucy is passionate about the provision of evidence-based, holistic care and empowering patients to self-manage in an ageing, increasingly complex population. Her MSc dissertation explored the role of dance as an alternative form of exercise in pulmonary rehabilitation.
Lucy is a co-opted committee member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Respiratory Care (ACPRC). She has been involved in the development of regional networks across the UK. Lucy is currently the ACPRC representative within the British Thoracic Society Pulmonary Rehabilitation Specialist Advisory Group (BTS PR SAG).
