Mr Isaak Tyros is a highly-trained physiotherapist specialising in musculoskeletal rehabilitation sciences. He is involved with teaching musculoskeletal/manipulative physiotherapy at postgraduate level and his research activities are currently focused on spinal conditions and exercise prescription.

Biography

Isaak Tyros has been working in private practice since 2009 and following completion of his Maters in 2014, he developed an interest in teaching and researching. He is an accredited clinical mentor for the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) since 2015 and prior to his current role at the University of Birmingham, he worked as a visiting lecturer for the Universities of Birmingham and East London between 2014 and 2019. His research has focused on spinal conditions and exercise prescription (whiplash injury, chronic neck pain and thoracic spine), developing assessment methods (vibration testing in early neuropathies), and researching the effectiveness of dynamometers for teaching manual therapy techniques (dynamometer assisted mobilisations). Being a recreational musician, he has a special interest in performing arts medicine and is registered with the British Association of Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM).
