Igor is a Brazilian clinician with a keen awareness of the importance of integrative physiology in underpinning human health and disease, and is committed to a career in physiological research.
As an undergraduate student, Igor was awarded the Josué de Castro 1st prize in the Education area for the development of anatomy and physiology teaching resources along with his group of students. Following the completion of the medical training, he enrolled in the Masters programme at the Fluminense Federal University, being based in the Laboratory of Exercise Sciences in 2011 under the supervision of Prof. Antonio Claudio Lucas da Nóbrega. He is now a PhD student at the University of Birmingham focusing on integrative physiology.
