Education Services and Support – Administration Apprentice (15 months fixed term contract)

36 hours per week - Starting salary of £12,654.40 per annum rising to £15,818 in month 13.

If you are looking to kick start your administration career at a leading University then this is the apprenticeship for you.

The successful apprentice will gain a wide range of administration experience across the four operational areas within Education Services and Support covering Undergraduate Programmes, Postgraduate Programmes, Student Services and Technology Enhanced Learning.

In addition the apprentice will gain experience of administration in other University service areas such as finance and HR to give a wide and broad experience of business administration.  You will develop essential skills as an assistant administrator and will be given specific tasks in each area aimed at developing your skillset in a functioning workplace.  These tasks will be meaningful and of genuine value to the teams.  Working with your Mentor(s), who will provide appropriate support, you will be required to be complete tasks to agreed standards and deadlines.

This is a great opportunity for an apprentice to gain substantial experience in a diverse environment which will give a real insight into educational administration and help in their development of personal learning and thinking skills.

IT Service Desk Support Apprentice - Customer Services (13 month fixed term contract)

Starting salary of £13,372.80 per annum

Start a customer service IT based career at the University of Birmingham.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our outstanding IT department. This apprenticeship is a customer facing entry level IT support post gaining a wealth of IT experience based at the IT Service Desk.

The apprentice will develop essential skills including:

Provide first line IT support to staff, students and visitors 

Developing a good knowledge of the organisational and IT infrastructure

Writing IT support articles for the IT Service Desk Knowledge Base

Gain invaluable experience in a busy customer service environment

Desktop IT Support Apprentice (13 months fixed term contract)

36 hours per week - Starting salary of £13,373 per annum

If you are looking to launch your IT career at a leading University this is an excellent opportunity for you at one of the largest employers in the West Midlands.

The apprenticeship is a customer facing entry level IT support opportunity within a 2nd line Desktop Support Team that forms part of End Users Services at the University of Birmingham.

The apprentice will develop skills working across End User Services within a college or Professional Services, completing basic IT support and moving in to different areas as the apprenticeship programme allows.

 The apprenticeship would suit an individual with a positive attitude towards the provision of exceptional customer service in a demanding IT environment. They will be a, polite, trustworthy, approachable and welcoming, able to talk to customers face to face, over the phone or via electronic medium. The successful candidate should be hard working with a strong desire to learn and a passion for IT possessing a drive to advance within the IT industry.
