Sheila joined Primary Care as secretarial support in 1996. For many years she was employed as an Administrator with MidReC (Midlands Research Practices Consortium). With the inception of the Primary Care Research Network for Central England (PCRN-CE), she took on the role of Sr Administrator taking on administration for both MidReC and PCRN-CE. Within these roles she has worked on several research projects from within the department. Projects include:
- TASMINH2 (Blood pressure monitoring study)
- BiPAS (Prostate Cancer Study)
- Descarte (Sore throat study
- SWOP (Support Workers for Older People)
- BEST (Back pain study)
- GLASS (Guided leg exercises after stroke study)
- Birmingham Birth Register Study
Her main interests lie in Stroke and Cardiovascular disease and she is particularly keen to involve patients and the public in research. She is a member of the CLAHRC Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Forum.
