Research

Real World Evidence THIN-KINGROUP: This group led by Krish and Nicola Adderley utilises traditional cohort and routinely collected health care data to answer important clinical questions on risk factors, therapeutic options and complications of a number of clinical conditions, in particular diabetes and endocrinology disorders. We also evaluate policies and estimate healthcare costs utilising routinely collected data.

Automated Clinical Epidemiology Studies (ACES): This strand informs Krish’s fellowship and is Co-lead with Krishna Gokhale. This work stream automates routine and complex epidemiology study designs and data extraction to expedite epidemiology and policy research. In an ambitious project the team is building two separate platforms for: 1) Automated Infant and Mothers Studies (AIMS) and 2) Automated Pharmaco-Epidemiology Studies (APES). This work stream will also build global collaborators by sharing the tool with international partners to enable simultaneous research across multiple countries/databases for a given clinical question (ACES: Global).

Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Research on Inpatient Diabetes Group for E-Health (QueenBRIDGE): This strand develops, implement and evaluate digital technologies and decision support tools to improve care of hospitalised patients with diabetes.
