Chidubem is a Research Fellow at the Health Economics Unit, University of Birmingham.

She is an enthusiastic researcher and is interested in outcome valuations and costing particularly in the areas of maternal, child and sexual health.

She recently completed an economic evaluation alongside the PRISM trial, which is funded solely by NIHR-HTA (UK is a large randomised, double-blind and placebo-controlled multi-centre study of the effectiveness of progesterone in reducing pregnancy losses in women with early pregnancy bleeding. Chidubem is currently involved in the LUSTRUM trial and the APPEAL trial.

She completed her PhD entitled ‘Developing and piloting approaches for the valuation of outcomes associated with sexually transmitted infections in order to construct QALYs for use in economic evaluation', in September 2018.

Biography

Chidubem (Duby) trained as a public health physician in Nigeria. She obtained an MSc in Health Economics and Health Policy from the University of Birmingham in September 2014.

On completion of her MSc programme, she started a PhD with the unit in December 2014 and completed this in September 2018.

In the past, Duby has been involved in maternal and child health. Her MSc research explored the intangible costs of stillbirth.

The focus of her PhD was to develop and pilot approaches for outcome valuation related to sexually transmitted infections particularly chlamydia. This involves exploring techniques used for the assessment of temporary health states.

Currently she is involved in conducting economic evaluations alongside clinical trials.
