Biography

I have been involved with EFL for about 30 years. I have worked in a variety of institutions teaching all age-groups and levels in Spain, Thailand and the UK. In Bristol in the 90s, I worked as a CELTA trainer and for many years after that I was in charge of teacher quality control at an international boarding school. In the last 10 years, however, I have directed my attention to English for Academic Purposes (EAP), working in Further and Higher Education Institutions. In conjunction with my work at the BIA, I am an examiner for two internationally recognized exam boards.

Teaching

Here for the BIA I have taught on pre-sessional courses, both post-graduate and under-graduate. In addition, I have taught in-sessional English, delivering lectures, organizing workshops, running tutorials and offering a drop-in English advisory service. I have also been a tutor for Foundation classes for both Arts and Science pathways.
