I am the EAP Foundation Programme manager. I support our foundation year international students in the development of their language and academic skills as they begin their journey at the University of Birmingham.

  • BA (Hons) International Relations

Biography

I have been teaching English or managing English teaching programmes for around fifteen years, and I am currently the programme manager for the BIA’s English for Academic Purposes Foundation Programme. Previously to joining the University of Birmingham I spent a decade working for the British Council most recently as Head of Teaching and Learning, Saudi Arabia. As well as the UK and Saudi Arabia I have lived and worked in Vietnam, Egypt and Tanzania. Beyond the classroom my research, projects and conference presentations have primarily focussed on the professional development of teachers, quality assurance and monitoring, and curriculum design.
