Biography

I completed a PhD in Genetics and Genome Biology at the University of Leicester in 2016, and until the end of 2021 I worked as a post-doctoral research scientist. Firstly, at the University of Leicester with Dr James Higgins’ on a BBSRC sLoLa grant ‘Releasing natural variation in bread wheat by modulating meiotic crossovers’ and then with Dr Levi Yant on an ERC research and innovation programme ‘Genomic hotspots of adaptation to whole genome duplication’. My current research interests include meiosis, plant evolutionary biology, hybridisation, polyploidy and speciation. Teaching

I teach on the Medical, Life and Geosciences Foundation Pathway, contributing to the modules ‘Molecular and Cellular Biology’, and ‘Living Organisms’
