Susie Mee is the Quality Assurance Manager within the Quality Management Team at the Cancer Research UK Clinical Trials Unit (CRCTU), Institute of Cancer and Genomic Sciences at the University of Birmingham.

Susie previously coordinated the National Lung Matrix Trial for 3 years, a multi-drug, multi-centre, non-comparative, multi-arm phase II trial in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Susie graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Pharmaceutical Studies from Cardiff University in 2014 before starting as a Data Manager within the Haematology Team at the Cancer Research UK Clinical Trials Unit (CRCTU) in June 2014. Susie supported trials within the Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP) portfolio.

Susie then joined the Early Drug Development (EDD) team in December 2014 as the Trial Administrator, working on the National Lung Matrix Trial, and was promoted to the Trial Coordinator in August 2015, shortly after the trial opened to recruitment.

Susie coordinated the Matrix Trial until April 2018; set-up and activated 15 sites; processed 10 substantial amendments to the trial including the implementation of new trial arms; and maintained professional working relationships with multiple third parties, sites, and pharmaceutical partners.

As the Quality Assurance Manager, Susie supports the maintenance and improvement of the CRCTU’s Quality Management System.

Susie also performs internal process audits, external vendor audits and contributes to the oversight of CRCTU’s on-site monitoring.

Susie is the named Archivist for the CRCTU.
