Dee Wherton is a Senior Trial Coordinator within the Early Drug Development (EDD) Team at the Cancer Research UK Clinical Trials Unit (CRCTU), Institute of Cancer and Genomic Sciences at the University of Birmingham.

Dee leads a sub-team of staff within the EDD team, responsible for coordinating the National Lung Matrix Trial, a multi-drug, multi-centre, non-comparative, multi-arm phase II trial in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Biography

After working in the NHS for 8 years, Dee joined the CRCTU as a Trial Coordinator in the Children’s Cancer Trials Team where she opened the CRCTU’s first international paediatric trial sponsored by the University, BEACON-Neuroblastoma.

Dee also worked on the GD2 trial and BSG-Temozolomide trial for 3 years before moving to the Early Drug Development Team in 2014 as a Senior Trial Coordinator. As Senior Trial Coordinator, Dee provides senior oversight for the day to day running of the National Lung Matrix Trial and the staff working on it.
